About SPM
Syama Prasad Mookerjee (1901–1953) was an Indian politician and academic who founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, a precursor to the BJP. He served as India’s first Industry Minister in Nehru’s cabinet but resigned over disagreements, notably the Liaquat–Nehru Pact. Initially associated with the Hindu Mahasabha, Mookerjee later distanced himself and, with RSS support, established the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951.

- Age Limit – The minimum age limit of applicants should be 18 years and the upper age limit should not exceed 30 years. However, an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC-NCL, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD is applicable.
- Nationality – Candidates applying for recruitment in the HDC and KDS in SMP Kolkata must be an Indian nationals.
SPM Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
The selection for SMP-K posts includes an online test, document verification, and an interview. Shortlisted candidates will be notified on the SMP-K website. Failure to submit the required documents or meet the criteria will result in disqualification. SMP-K reserves the right to modify the selection process.
SPM Recruitment 2024 Salary
The Basic Pay for the Assistant Manager position at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Kolkata is ₹50,000/- in the pay scale of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000/-. The total monthly emoluments are approximately ₹91,435/- as of October 2024, which include Basic Pay, DA (based on IDA pattern), and Cafeteria allowances. Additionally, candidates will be entitled to Gratuity, New Pension Scheme, HRA or subsidized accommodation, Medical benefits, and Leave encashment, as per SMPK rules.
