The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) announced that it has collaborated with the Reserve Bank’s subsidiary, RBIH, to establish a system for faster processing of agricultural loans.
NABARD has created a digital platform to simplify the process of obtaining Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) for farmers.
This platform will be available to cooperative banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).
By digitizing the process, farmers can receive credit at their doorstep quickly and banks can work more efficiently, fulfilling NABARD’s mission of promoting rural prosperity.

Adani Group’s Vizhinjam Port in Kerala has received approval from the shipping ministry to operate as India’s first transshipment port.
This will be India’s first full-fledged deepwater transshipment port.

The world’s biggest Transshipment ports are Singapore, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Busan and Hong Kong.

Gina Justus is an English High School teacher at the Sharjah Girls Branch, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Gina Justus is originally from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Gina Justus has been working in the UAE since 2005. Gina Justus was recognized for her excellent mentorship and dedication to charity.
India’s Meena Mishra has also been included among the total nine regional winners in this competition.
Meena Mishra is a teacher at Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan International School, Mumbai.

According to a recent report by the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Indian service sector exports grew by 11.4 percent to $345 billion in the calendar year 2023(January-December) despite prevailing global uncertainties.
However, Chinese service exports declined by 10.1 percent to $381 billion in 2023.
India’s services imports, however, dipped marginally by 0.4 percent to $248 billion last year.
According to the UNCTAD, the service sector export in the world grew by 8.9% in 2023 and reached US$ 7.9 trillion in 2023.
The main reason for the growth in the service sector export was the growth in the International travel sector. The travel service sector export grew by 40%.
India is the 7th largest exporter of services in the world. The United States is the largest service exporter in the world, followed by the United Kingdom.

The Indian athletes continued their medal-winning spree in the 21st U-20 Asian Athletics Championship 2024, with Harshit Kumar winning gold in the Hammer throw event. At the end of the third day of the event, the Indian athletes won five medals-one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. The total number of Indian medals won by Indian athletes stands at 18.
The 21st Asian U20 Athletics Championship is being organized by the Asian Athletics Association in association with the host UAE Athletics Federation in Dubai from 24 April- 27 April 2024.
In the 21st edition of the championship, 60 Indian athletes, including 31 men and 29 women, are participating.
The Dubai Asian U20 Athletics Championships is a qualifying event for the 2024 World U20 Athletics Championships. Lima, the capital of Peru, will host the 2024 World U20 Athletics Championships from 27 to 31 August 2024.
In the 20th Asian U20 Athletics Championships held in Yecheon, South Korea, last year, India won 19 medals. India stood third on the medal table behind Japan and China.

SJVN Limited launched India’s first Green Hydrogen Pilot Project at Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) in Jhakri, Himachal Pradesh.
SJVN achieved a milestone by inaugurating India’s first multi-purpose green hydrogen pilot project at the company’s 1,500 MW NJHPS.
The green hydrogen from the project will fuel NJHPS’s High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) coating facility.
This country’s first multipurpose green hydrogen production plant was inaugurated by Geeta Kapur, Chairperson and Managing Director of SJVN.
The SJVN Chairperson also inaugurated the first of its kind centralized operation of 1,500 MW NJHPS and 412 MW Rampur HPS through remotely operated Unit-2 of Rampur HPS.
