The event was attended by Punjab Governor and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, and Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla.

The apps are designed to support the implementation of three new criminal laws in India.

The new criminal laws are:

Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, replacing the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, replacing the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, replacing the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.

These laws were implemented nationwide starting from 1 July 2024.

Forensic investigation is mandatory in criminal cases where the minimum sentence is 7 years.

Amit Shah stated that with full implementation, judgments to the Supreme Court could be expected within three years.

The stamps were released at a function in New Delhi on 5 August 2024.

The function was attended by Paris Olympics bronze medallist shooter Sarabjot Singh, steeplechase athlete Sudha Singh, and former cricketer Akash Chopra.

Sarabjot Singh won a bronze medal in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The missile can be fired from the Su-30 MKI, LCA Tejas, and Indian Navy’s Mig-29K.

It is designed to destroy aerial targets such as fighter aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and drones.

DRDO is also developing the Astra Mk-2, which has an increased range of 130-160 km due to its dual pulse rocket motor.
