Culture of Andhra Pradesh –

The Reserve Bank of India has increased the transaction limit for Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments to hospitals and educational institutions to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 1 lakh per transaction.
Further no authentication will be required for transactions of Rs 1 lakh for recurring payments of mutual fund subscriptions, insurance premium subscriptions and credit card repayments.

Chief Justice of India, Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud, inaugurated the new premises of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Mumbai Bench.
He commended the Central Government’s support in establishing judicial infrastructure.
He has further elaborated the creation of the Tribunals by 42nd amendment with the objective of combating the delays and backlog faced by the Courts.
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) is a statutory body established in 1985 under Article 323-A of the Indian Constitution.
This tribunal aims to resolve and settle disputes and grievances related to the recruitment and conditions of service of government employees.

International Maritime Organization Green Voyage2050 Project has the objective to assist developing countries in their efforts to reduce Green House Gas emissions from ships.

The GoI has implemented all MARPOL regulations about carbon emissions on Indian Ships.
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
The goal was agreed upon by all 178 countries who are members of the IMO, with indicative targets of a 20-30% reduction in emissions from 2008 levels by 2030, and a 70-80% reduction by 2040.
IMO has 175 Member States and three Associate Members, and its headquarters are in London, United Kingdom.
India joined the IMO in 1959.

India has been placed 7th in this year’s Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI).
The country improved one rank from the previous one, and also remained among the highest performers.
According to a report released during the global climate conference (COP-28) in Dubai, India maintained its top 10 position for the fifth year in a row.
The Index evaluates the climate mitigation efforts of 63 countries and the European Union, covering over 90 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
China, the largest polluter came in at number 51 while the US, the second biggest emitter came in at number 57.
India’s past performance in the CCPI ranking shows significant improvement from 31st rank in 2014 to seventh in 2023.
