The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) on Monday successfully launched NVS-01, a second-generation navigation satellite on board the Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle or GSLV Mk-II, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota.
The ISRO agency said the NVS-01 will augment India’s regional navigation system by providing accurate and real-time navigation.
“GSLV-F12/ NVS-O1 Mission is accomplished: After a flight of about 19 minutes, the NVS-O1 satellite was injected precisely into a geosynchronous transfer orbit,” ISRO announced after Monday’s launch.
The space agency said, “Subsequent orbit-raising maneuvers will take NVS-01 into the intended geosynchronous orbit.”
At the end of a 27.5-hour countdown, the 51.7-meter tall, three-stage GSLV Mk-II lifted off at 10.42 am from the second launchpad at SDSC, nearly 130km from Chennai. This was GSLV’s 15th flight.

This achievement made Shri Ramcharitmanas the longest song in the world. Dr Jagadish Pillai has been credited with five years of the broadcast of Sri Ramcharitmanas recitals on more than 100 official audio channels across the globe.
The previous record for the longest song was held by UK’s Mark Christopher Lee and The Pocket Gods on December 1, 2021, with a duration of 115 hours and 45 minutes.
Dr Pillai, who has PhD in Vedic Science, is the author of over 5 hundred books. Dr Jagdish Pillai has become the Guinness World Record holder for the maximum number of times i.e. 5 times from Uttar Pradesh.

Patna Municipal Corporation in Bihar, India, has become the first municipal corporation in the country to adopt Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
The digital currency, e-Rupee generated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), will be used in the entire Patna Municipal Corporation area. The implementation of the CBDC will start from the municipal headquarters in the Maurya Lok complex, and later extend to all regional offices and payment counters within the corporation.

King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni has arrived in New Delhi on a three-day visit to India.
