About AAI

Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a statutory body under the ownership of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. It is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining, and managing civil aviation infrastructure in India. It provides Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) services over the Indian airspace and adjoining oceanic areas. AAI currently manages a total of 137 airports, including 34 international airports, 10 Customs Airports, 81 domestic airports, and 23 Civil enclaves at Defence airfields. AAI also has ground installations at all airports and 25 other locations to ensure the safety of aircraft operations.

AAI Eligibility Criteria

1. Eligibility is restricted to Indian nationals from the North Eastern Region (NER).
2. Only those candidates who have finished their degree or diploma within the last three years from the application date are eligible to apply.
3. The age range for applicants is between 18 and 26 years as of December 31, 2023. There are age relaxation provisions for categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PWBD, following the guidelines of the Government of India.

AAI Education Qualification

1. Candidates with a Graduate/Diploma qualification are required to have completed a full-time four-year degree or three years of regular diploma in Engineering in the specified streams. The degrees or diplomas should be recognized by the AICTE, Government of India.

2. Those opting for the ITI Trade route should possess an ITI/NCVT certificate in the specified trades from institutions recognized by the AICTE, Government of India. This certification is necessary for eligibility.

AAI Selection Process

• The initial selection of candidates will depend on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
• If selected, the candidate’s status will be provisional, and those shortlisted will receive notifications for an interview or document verification through their registered email IDs.
• The ultimate selection will be determined by the interview, document verification, and the submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining.
• The chosen candidates are likely to be stationed in the specified locations in the North Eastern Region, primarily based on their registration location on the portal.
