Eligibility Criteria

1. Graduate Apprentices:

• Education: Degree in Engineering/Technology in relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution.
• Age: Minimum 18 years as of 01.01.2025.
• Physical Standards: As per Apprenticeship Rules 1992.
• Reservation: As per Government of India directives for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD.

1. Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:

• Education: Diploma in Engineering/Technology in relevant discipline from a recognized board/university.
• Age: Minimum 18 years as of 01.01.2025.
• Physical Standards: As per Apprenticeship Rules 1992.
• Reservation: As per Government of India directives for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD.

Cochin Shipyard Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

Selection Procedure

1. Eligibility for Consideration:
   • Only candidates who passed the prescribed qualification in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024 and are domiciled in West Bengal will be considered.
   • Shortlisting will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification for each discipline. In case of a tie, the candidate with the seniority in passing year will be given preference.
2. Certificate Verification:
   • Shortlisted candidates for certificate verification must bring original certificates (proof of age, qualification, marks, caste, disability, etc.) and self-attested copies for verification.
   • Failure to produce original certificates will lead to rejection of candidature.
3. Provisional Selection:
   • Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification will be provisionally considered for selection based on merit/reservation and medical fitness.

Stipend for Apprentices:

• Category – I Graduate Apprentices:
  • Mechanical: ₹12,000/-
  • Electrical: ₹12,000/-
  • Electronics & Communication: ₹12,000/-

• Category – I Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
  • Mechanical: ₹10,200/-

Duration of Training:

• The Apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year as per the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973.

Registration and Submission of Application:

The apprenticeship registration portal has changed from portal.mhrd.nats.gov.in to nats.education.gov.in. The application process for those already registered on the old portal and new users is as follows:

For students with registration on the old Apprentice portal (portal.mhrd.nats.gov.in):

1. Step 1:
   • Activate your account on the https://nats.education.gov.in portal by using the “Forgot the password” option on the student login page.
   • Log in and complete the application form, ensuring all details are correct.
   • After the account activation procedure (new portal migration), proceed to Step 2.
2. Step 2:
   • Login to the portal.
   • Search for “HOOGHLY COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under the “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
   • Click Apply (You will see the status as “applied”).

For students with no registration on the old Apprentice portal:

1. Step 1:
   • Go to https://nats.education.gov.in.
   • Click on Student.
   • Click on Student Register.
   • Complete the application form.
   • A unique enrollment number will be generated for each student.
2. Step 2:
   • Login to the portal.
   • Search for “HOOGHLY COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under the “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
