The Indo-Nepal joint venture is administered by Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL), the largest shipbuilding and maintenance facility in India, located in the port city of Kochi in the southern state of Kerala. It forms part of a network of maritime-linked facilities there. CSL is also recognized for its ability to build huge platform supply vessels, double-hulled oil tankers, and large vessels with DWT (Deadweight Tonnage) capacity of up to 1,20,000, it is the largest shipyard in India in terms of capacity. It was conferred Miniratna status by the Government of India for its excellent contribution to the Maritime Sector.

Age Limit:
- The upper age limit for all the posts is 27 years as of 06 January 2025, i.e., applicants should be born on or after 07 January 1998.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates, specifically for posts reserved for the respective categories.
- For the Executive Trainee posts in Information Technology, Human Resources, and Finance, there may be further relaxation in age criteria.
Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
- Phase-I: There shall be an Objective Type Online Test for 60 marks of 60 questions on General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning, and Subject-based. There is no negative marking.
- Phase II consists of Group Discussion, Writing Skills & Personal Interview for a total of 40 marks. GD will be 10 marks, Writing Skills 10 marks, and Interview 20 marks.
- The final rank list is compiled from total phase marks (Phase-I + Phase-II) If a tie still exists, other order of subject tests and then age seniority will be used.
- Phase I will be conducted at different test centers across Kerala and Phase II will be at CSL Kochi.
- Qualifying marks have been given as Unreserved/EWS- 50%, OBC- 45%, SC/ST/PwBD- 40%
- Candidates scoring minimum qualifying marks will be called for certificate verification before Phase II.
- It will form a rank list based on the aggregate score obtained in both sessions and if any tie occurs, candidates will be differentiated based on marks in the part of the Objective examination and age, in this order.
Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) Recruitment 2024 Salary
- The chosen Executive Trainee will be trained for one year at a consolidated monthly stipend of ₹50,000. For more training, if needed during closed holidays, an additional stipend of Rs 3,000 per month, up to this, will be given.
- Upon successful completion of training, Executive Trainees will be absorbed as Assistant Managers in E-1 Grade (Pay Scale: ₹40,000-3%-140,000), along with allowances like Industrial Dearness Allowance, HRA of 18%, perks up to 35% of Basic Pay, New Pension Scheme, Provident Fund, Accident Insurance and Health Insurance.
- The monthly emoluments for Assistant Manager in E-1 Grade is approximately ₹80,280, and the annual CTC is around ₹14 lakhs.
- Candidates will be posted at CSL, Kochi, or any CSL unit/project site and may be transferred depending upon project requirements. Candidates should be ready to work in any CSL department, ships, and any project site in India or abroad.
Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) Recruitment 2024 Agreement Bond
- Selected candidates will have to sign a Service Agreement, wherein they will have to serve CSL for a minimum period of five years after successful completion of training.
- In case of the candidate breaching the agreement, he or she is liable to pay ₹5 Lakhs as liquidated damages to CSL.
- No candidate will be eligible to apply for any outside job during the tenure of the training and service agreement, and no NOC will be issued to apply for the same.

- Fee: ₹1000/- (Non-refundable and bank charges) is to be paid online (Debit card, Credit card, Internet Banking, Wallets, UPI, etc.) between 06 December 2024 to 06 January 2025
- Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories can leverage the application fee waiver.
- The application fee is also exempted for PwBD category applicants for the Executive Trainee (Information Technology/ Human Resources/ Finance) posts.
- Candidates on whom the exam fee is applicable need to pay the application fee for the application to be valid.

- Applicants should visit the website www. cochinshipyard. Career page → CSL, Kochi and click on the online application link. There are two phases in the application process: Registration and Submission.
- Only one post is allowed and application from any applicant will be valid as online exam dates of various posts will be held at one time.
- Register to complete the Process and submit the application form along with the Declaration via the online application facility on the official website from 06 Dec 2024. Applications made by other means will not be considered.
- Double-check all entries before final submission. Amendments after submission will not be taken into account, and incomplete applications will be disqualified.
- Keep a soft copy or printout of the online application along with the user’s unique registration number received during the application process. Any correspondence with CSL should quote this number.
- The online application, certificates as well as application fees must not be sent to the official address by post.
- The application portal will be opened from 06 Dec 2024 to 06 Jan 2025. That is a good idea because it will stave off last-minute website traffic and technical issues.
