About Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL)
Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) is a government-owned shipbuilding company situated on the West Coast of India in Vasco da Gama, Goa. Established in 1957 as “Estaleiros Navais de Goa” by the colonial government of the Portuguese in India, its initial purpose was to construct barges for Goa’s burgeoning mining industry, catalyzed by India’s blockade of Goa in 1955. Following Portugal’s defeat and unconditional surrender to India after the 1961 annexation of Goa, GSL was repurposed to manufacture warships for both the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard.

The selection process for Goa Shipyard Limited’s Apprenticeship Training is as follows:
- Graduate Apprentices: Selection involves a Written Test followed by an Interview.
- Technician Apprentices: Selection includes a Written Test and a Practical Test. Candidates who clear the Written Test will proceed to the Interview or Practical Test, depending on the specific discipline.
