Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) is a government-owned shipbuilding company situated on the West Coast of India in Vasco da Gama, Goa. Established in 1957 as “Estaleiros Navais de Goa” by the colonial government of the Portuguese in India, its initial purpose was to construct barges for Goa’s burgeoning mining industry, catalyzed by India’s blockade of Goa in 1955. Goa Shipyard Recruitment 2024 Age Criteria: The age limits for Goa Shipyard Management Trainee as of 30th January 2023 are as follows:

• 33 years for SC/ST
• 31 years for OBC
• 28 years for UR/EWS

Goa Shipyard Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

• Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria set by the Management, based on the response to the advertisement, will be required to appear for a written test.
• The written test may be conducted either through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Pen and Paper-Based Test (PBT).
• Candidates scoring 50% or above in the written test for UR and EWS categories, and 45% or above for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD categories, will be shortlisted for document verification, followed by an interview.
• Based on the written test performance, if there are more candidates, the Management may shortlist in a 1:5 ratio for document verification/interview, meeting minimum passing marks.
• The interview carries 15 marks, with qualifying marks set at 50% for UR & EWS and 45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD. Selection is based on the aggregate of written test and interview marks, following reservation guidelines. In case of a tie, seniority in age determines relative merit.
• Interview (15 marks): Need 50% for UR & EWS, and 45% for others. Selection is based on total marks from written tests and interviews, with age seniority breaking ties.
• The chosen candidate will undergo “On-the-Job Training” for one year, with the possibility of extension if needed.

Goa Shipyard Recruitment 2024 Salary

During training, candidates receive a monthly basic pay of ₹40,000, plus allowances like DA (43.8%), HRA (18% in Goa), perks, and other benefits as per GSL policy. Upon successful training completion, they may be absorbed as Assistant Managers (E-1 grade) with a pay scale of ₹40,000-3%-140,000, including an increment. Newly absorbed Assistant Managers undergo a one-year probation period.

• Management Trainee CTC: Rs. 11.36 lakhs per annum
• Assistant Manager Grade CTC: Rs. 15.05 lakhs per annum
