About HAL
HAL stands for Hindustan Aircraft Limited and came in existence on 23rd of Dec 1940 in the Bangalore.
The company was formed by Shri Walchand Hirachand who was a farsighted visionary, in association with the earlier Govt. of Mysore, by having an aim of manufacturing the various aircrafts in India.
In 1941, the Government of India became one of the shareholders in the Company and eventually took control from its management in 1942.
