Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is an Indian public-sector aerospace and defense company headquartered in Bangalore. Established on 23 December 1940, HAL is one of the oldest and largest aerospace and defense manufacturers globally. HAL began aircraft manufacturing in 1942 with licensed production of various aircraft for the Indian Air Force. Currently, HAL operates 11 R&D centers and 21 manufacturing divisions under 4 production units across India. Managed by a board appointed by the President of India through the Ministry of Defence, HAL is involved in designing and manufacturing fighter jets, helicopters, jet engines, marine gas turbine engines, avionics, software development, spares supply, and the overhaul and upgrade of Indian military aircraft.

HAL’s ARDC Design Complex is currently recruiting personnel for the posts of Diploma Technician, Technician, and Assistant in various categories including UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS on a tenure basis for 4 years in the Non-Executive Cadre. These positions will be stationed at ARDC/RWRDC/MCSRDC or any Divisions/Offices of HAL/Indian Air Force Bases (IAF) Outstation Bases. The tenure will automatically end after four years from the date of joining, with the possibility of extension based on Management’s discretion.

HAL Recruitment 2024 Age Limit
- UR / EWS: Upper age limit not above 28 years as of 31/05/2024.
- SC / ST: Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years.
- OBC-NCL: Upper age limit relaxable by 3 years.
- EWS Category: Income and Asset Certificate valid for the 2023-2024 financial year.
- PwBDs: Upper age limit relaxable by 10 years.
- Jammu & Kashmir Domicile: Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years.
- HAL Ex-Apprentice Trainees: Age relaxation as per the Apprentices Act training period.
- Ex-servicemen: Age relaxation based on service duration.
- Experience: Maximum age limit of 35 years with relevant experience.
- Overall Age Limit: Maximum age of 56 years for PwBDs and 55 years for others.
HAL Recruitment 2024 Tenure of Engagement
- Tenure Basis: Selected candidates will be engaged on a tenure basis for up to four years from the date of joining.
- Nature of Engagement: The engagement is not against permanent vacancies and does not guarantee regular employment in the future.
- Automatic End of Tenure: The tenure will end automatically after four years from the date of joining.
- Extension: Extension of tenure for up to four years may be considered based on workload and requirements, at the discretion of HAL management.
- Termination: Employment can be terminated with one month’s notice by either party or payment in lieu of notice.
- Status: Tenure-based engagement does not grant the right to claim regular employee status.
- Shifts: Personnel selected will be deployed in shifts as per operational requirements.
HAL Recruitment 2024 Training
- Training: Selected personnel on a tenure basis will undergo induction training at the division where they are posted.
- Place of Posting: Initially posted at Bangalore-based R&D centers (ARDC, RWRDC & MCSRDC), candidates may be transferred to any HAL division, office, detachment, or customer base across India as per organizational requirements.
HAL Recruitment 2024 Salary
The remuneration for HAL positions includes:
- Scale-5: Approximately ₹44,554/month
- Scale-6: Approximately ₹46,511/month Components include Basic Pay, DA, HRA, perks, medical allowance, and various other allowances like uniform and TA/DA.
HAL Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
- Written Test: Conducted in Bangalore, consisting of:
- Part I: General Awareness (20 questions)
- Part II: English & Reasoning (40 questions)
- Part III: Discipline-specific (100 questions)
- Duration: 2.5 hours; MCQ format with no negative marking.
- Communication: All correspondence via email. Candidates must have a personal email ID.
- Admit Card: Sent via email and downloadable from the HAL website. Candidates bear their expenses for the test.
- Identity Verification: Required original photo ID and self-attested copy at the test venue.
- Selection Criteria: Based solely on Written Test marks, in order of merit.
- Document Verification: Candidates qualifying for the Written Test are called. Must produce original documents as per eligibility criteria.
- Engagement: Subject to caste verification (if applicable) and character check. Selected candidates engage for up to four years.
- Travel Allowance: Reimbursed for Document Verification travel based on proof of travel expenses.
