Educational Qualification (As on 05 January 2025)

• Civil Judge:
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must possess a degree in law recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Age Limit (As on 05 January 2025)

• Civil Judge:
  • 22 to 35 years
  • Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 03 years for SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Himachal Pradesh.

Preliminary Examination

• Exam Type: Objective Type Examination
• Subjects:
  1. Civil Law-I
  2. Civil Law-II
  3. Criminal Law
• Marks per Paper: 100 marks
• Duration per Paper: 1 hour
• Total Marks: 300 marks
• No Negative Marking
• Preliminary Examination Date: 02-03-2025

Main (Narrative) Examination

• Candidates selected from the Preliminary Examination will be called to appear for the Main Examination (top 20 times the number of vacancies).
• Exam Format: Narrative Papers

  1. Civil Law-I: 200 marks
  2. Civil Law-II: 200 marks
  3. Criminal Law: 200 marks
  4. English Composition: 150 marks
  5. Hindi Language: 100 marks
• Minimum Marks to Qualify:

• • 40% marks in each paper except Hindi (33% for Hindi)
  • 45% aggregate marks in all papers
  • 33% in the Hindi language paper

• Main Examination Date: Tentatively from the last week of March 2025

Viva-Voce

• Candidates who qualify the Main Examination will be called for the Viva Voce (3 candidates per vacancy).

Instructions for Filling Up Online Recruitment Application (ORA)

1. Website for Application:
   Detailed instructions for filling the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) are available on the HPPSC official website: http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc.
2. How to Apply:
   • Visit the official HPPSC website and click on the “Apply Online” link on the home page.
   • Register and create your profile under the “One Time Registration” (OTR) section.
   • After logging into your OTR account, the list of advertisements will appear on your dashboard.
   • Choose the specific post you want to apply for and submit your application.
   • Your application will be submitted only after uploading the required documents as per the advertisement.
   • Before submission, you must preview the uploaded documents. You will need to give an undertaking/declaration confirming that the documents are legible, readable, and true. You will not object to the rejection of your candidature due to issues like poor scanning quality or non-readability of the documents.
3. Submission of Hard Copies:
   After applying online, candidates must submit the self-attested hard copies of the required documents along with a printout of the online application form to:

   Deadline for submission of hard copies: 13 January 2025.
4. No Further Submission After Deadline:
   No additional documents will be accepted after the deadline for submission of physical applications (13 January 2025).

   Your online application will be considered successfully submitted only after the payment of the application fee is acknowledged and credited to the HPPSC account.
6. No Changes After Submission:
   Once submitted, the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) cannot be modified or changed.
