About the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) constitute a prestigious network of engineering and technology institutions across India. Each IIT enjoys a degree of autonomy and is interconnected with others through the IIT Council, a collective body responsible for coordinating its affairs. The Minister of Education of India assumes the role of the ex officio chairperson of the IIT Council.
