Project Title –

• Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue Analysis of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites for Aerospace Applications: Experimental and Modeling Approach

Funding –

• Supported by Aeronautics Research & Development Board, DRDO

Tenure Duration –

• The initial appointment is for 12 months or until the project’s completion, whichever comes first.

Eligibility Criteria: IIT Mandi JRF Recruitment 2023

Required Qualifications –

Educational Qualifications:

• A B.Tech. or B.E. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Metallurgy Engineering, or a related equivalent field.

GATE Qualification:

• Having qualified for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) at least once during their academic career.

Desirable Experience:

• Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 and above.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in utilizing computational tools like ANSYS and COMSOL.
• Capability to conduct experiments related to fracture and fatigue.
• Competence in material characterization using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), and XRD (X-ray Diffraction).
• Skill in interpreting scientific data.
• Strong scientific writing abilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform structural design analysis utilizing FEM-based software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, or COMSOL.
• Conduct experimental investigations, including Fracture and Fatigue Tests, as well as the use of XRD (X-ray Diffraction), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope), and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope).

Salary/Stipend Details:

Monthly Salary: INR 31,000, with applicable House Rent Allowance (HRA).
