Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

• Stenographer Grade – II (Steno): 12th class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
• Tax Assistant (TA): A Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Matriculation or Equivalent pass.
• Sports Eligibility: Meritorious sportspersons who meet specific criteria at National, International, University, or School levels in recognized sports are eligible. Specific criteria are also mentioned for Chess players.
• Candidates must also meet the prescribed age limit as of January 01, 2025.
• Age Limit:
  • Stenographer Grade – II (Steno): 18 – 27 years
  • Tax Assistant (TA): 18 – 27 years
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 – 25 years
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for General/OBC and 10 years for SC/ST candidates (as per Government of India instructions for meritorious Sportspersons).

Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025 Selection Process

• Stenographer Grade-II: Candidates will be required to qualify a Skill test involving a dictation test (10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m.) and transcription (50 w.p.m. English or 65 w.p.m. Hindi) on computers.
• Tax Assistant: Candidates will be required to qualify a Data Entry Skill Test @ 8000 key depressions per hour.
• All selected candidates will undergo document verification.
