About NIOT
The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) was established in November 1993 as an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. Located in Chennai, NIOT is managed by a Governing Council and is headed by a director. The institute’s primary goal is to develop reliable indigenous technologies to address various engineering challenges related to the harvesting of both non-living and living resources in India’s exclusive economic zone, which covers about two-thirds of India’s land area.

NIOT Chennai Apprentice Recruitment 2024: The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) is recruiting 25 Graduate and Diploma Apprentices. Eligible candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma can attend the walk-in Recruitment on 2nd December 2024.
Candidates must register on the NATS Portal at nats.education.gov.in. Selection will be based on the Merit and the engagement will be for one year with a monthly stipend of Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 9,000.

NIOT Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or
- B.Sc (Chemistry/Biology/Physics), B.Sc (Comp. Sci), BCA, B.Com, or
- B.LIS from a recognized University or Institute.
Age Limit (as of 02.12.2024)
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (NCL) category.
NIOT Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
- Selection will be based on the performance in the walk-in Recruitment.

NIOT Recruitment 2024 Stipend
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 9,000/- per month

NIOT Recruitment 2024 Application Process

- Register on the NATS Portal:
- Before attending the walk-in interview, candidates must first register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal: nats.education.gov.in.
- Ensure to complete the registration process and obtain your NATS registration number, as it is required for the walk in.
- Prepare Required Documents: Candidates must bring the following documents to the walk-in Recruitment:
- Prescribed Application Form: Download the form (link provided in the official notification).
- Proof of Date of Birth: Birth certificate or 10th/SSC certificate.
- Caste Certificate (if applicable).
