Rail Coach Factory Apprentice Recruitment 2024 Education Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for the RCF Kapurthala Apprentice position:

• Passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks, in aggregate, from a recognized Board.
• Possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.

Procedure for calculating percentage of marks when cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is applicable:

• Multiply the CGPA by 9.5.
• In the “Maximum marks in Xth Class” column, fill in 1000 marks.
• In the “Marks obtained in Xth Class” column, put the equivalent marks obtained based on the calculated percentage.

For example, if a candidate has CGPA 7.4:

• Multiply 7.4 by 9.5 to get 70.3%.
• Fill 1000 marks as the maximum marks in the Xth class column.
• Put 700 marks in the marks obtained in the Xth class column.
• If a candidate scores 70% in enrollment and 80% in ITI, the average percentage will be (70 + 80) / 2 = 75%.

The selection process for the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala Recruitment will be as follows:

• A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and ITI marks in the trade for which apprenticeship is sought. The panel will be based on the simple average of marks in matriculation and ITI. • In case of candidates with the same marks, preference will be given to the candidate with the older age. If the dates of birth are also the same, then the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
• A final merit list will be prepared trade-wise and community-wise, in descending order of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates.
• Document Verification and Medical Examination: Candidates finally enlisted will undergo verification of original testimonials and a medical examination. The medical certificate should be signed by Government-authorized Doctors, not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of Central/State Hospital.

Training Period & Stipend:

i) The training period and stipend will be periodically followed by the Railway Board’s rules and directives.

ii) Hostel accommodation will not be provided to selected candidates. They are required to arrange their accommodation during the training period as per the Apprentices Act, of 1961. Upon completion of the training, they will be released.
