Qualifications & Skills Required –

1. For Graduate Teachers and Block Resource Teacher Educators (BRTE) positions, the educational qualifications required as of October 25, 2023, include:

2. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any relevant name); or

3. Attainment of a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); or

4. Holding a Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) Regulations applicable at that time; or

5. Successful completion of Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.); or

6. Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and completion of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. program; or

7. Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. (Special Education). Additionally, candidates must have a degree or its equivalent with subjects or languages relevant to the recruitment. They should also have passed the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – II with the appropriate optional subject for direct recruitment.

Selection Process – TN TRB Recruitment 2023

The selection process comprises the following stages:

1. Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test:

• This is an objective type test with 30 questions carrying a total of 50 marks.
• The test is time-limited to 30 minutes.
• To proceed to the next stage, candidates must obtain a minimum of 40% marks in this test.

2. Main Subject Examination (Part – B):

• The main subject examination is objective and conducted via OMR-based sheets.
• It consists of a single paper with 150 Multiple Choice Questions.
• Each question is worth one mark.
• Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 40% marks in this examination, with a lower threshold of 30% for BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, SC, SCA & ST candidates.
• The subjects covered include Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, and Geography, with each subject combined into a single paper.

3. Certificate Verification (C.V.):

• The Certificate Verification process will be based on the information provided by candidates in their online applications and the documents they have uploaded.
• The C.V. list is prepared by considering the marks obtained in the written competitive examination (Part – B) and Weightage marks.
• The list adheres to the rule of reservation for post allocation in the ratio of 1:1.25.
