About TPSC

Tripura Public Service Commission, publicly known as TPSC is a state government agency of Tripura state, constituted under Article 315 for conducting civil services examinations and competitive examination purposes. The commission is responsible for recruitment to various civil services and departmental posts at the state level.

TPSC came into existence after eight months when Tripura state was formed on 21 January 1972. After being served without its constitutional body for eight months, the commission came into existence on 30 October 1972 under Article 315, a provision of the Constitution of India.

• Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok.

TPSC Recruitment Selection Process

The Examination will Comprise Of three successive stages(1)Preliminary Examination (Multiple Choice Type Test) (2)Main Examination (Conventional Type Test) (3) Personality Test. Details Mention below.

Preliminary Examination(Multiple Choice Type Test):

• The preliminary Examination will consist of one paper containing Multiple Choice Type Questions on General Studies and Arithmetic for one hour and thirty minutes duration.
• The Preliminary Examination will be a Screening Test for the selection of candidates for admission to the Main Examination.
• A limited no. of candidates, maximum 5 times of total posts (category-wise) will be selected merit-wise based on the result of the Preliminary Examination, subject to securing minimum qualifying marks (35% for UR candidates and 30% for reserved category candidates) or otherwise as fixed by Commission.
• The marks obtained by the candidates in the Preliminary Examination will not be taken into account to determine the final merit list.

Main Examination(Conventional Type Test):

• The Main Examination will consist of two papers of Conventional Type Questions namely English Paper, General Studies & Arithmetic.
• Full Marks for each Paper will be 100 and the time allotted will be 2 hours and 30 minutes for each paper.
• The examinations for both papers will be held preferably on the same day at Agartala.

Personality Test:

• Candidates scoring marks equal to that of the last candidate so selected for the Personality Test will also be called for Personality Test.
• The total marks for the Personality Test will be 20.
• The Test shall be to assess the personal qualities of the candidate e.g. intellectual ability, social traits, interest in current affairs,
• The critical power of judgment, variety, depth of interest, ability for leadership, and moral integrity.
• In no case, a candidate will be calling for Personality Test unless he/she appears in all the papers of the Main Examination.
• The final selection will be made in order of merit based on the marks obtained by a candidate in aggregate adding the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the Personality Test.
• If a candidate remains absent from the Personality Test his/her candidature will not be consider for final selection.

TPSC Recruitment Fees:

• Rs. 300/- for General Candidates
• Rs.250/- only for ST/SC/ BPL card holders/Physically Handicapped Candidates.
