About WII

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an autonomous natural resource service institution established in 1982 under the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.WII carries out wildlife research in areas of study like Biodiversity, Endangered Species, Wildlife Policy, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Forensics, Spatial Modeling, Ecodevelopment, Ecotoxicology, Habitat Ecology, and Climate Change. WII has a research facility that includes Forensics, Remote Sensing, and GIS, Laboratory, Herbarium, and an Electronic Library.

The founder director was V. B. Saharia while the first Director was Hemendra Singh Panwar who remained the director from 1985 to 1994. Trained personnel from WII have contributed to studying and protecting wildlife in India. The national tiger census or the All India Tiger Estimation, is done by WII along with NTCA and state forest departments.

WII Recruitment Education Qualification:

Multi Tasking Staff	High School from recognized Board (State/Central)
Assistant Grade –III	10+2/XII or its equivalent from recognized Board Direct Recruitment will be through: Written competitive examination of 60 marks.  Typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi typing on the computer of 40 marks.
Technician	SSC/10th standard with 50% marks in the aggregate from a recognized Board (State/Central) and IT certificate of 2 years duration in relevant trade SSSC/HSC/12th in science
Technical Assistant	1st class B.Sc (Science)/ 1st class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent. OR 1st class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 year’s full-time duration or it’s equivalent.
Assistant Director	Master’s Degree from a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi/English with Hindi/English medium and English /Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level.    OR  Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with Hindi and English as compulsory/ elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other subject as a compulsory elective subject, plus a recognized diploma/ certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice a versa in Central/State Government officers including GOI undertakings.

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

• The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have a total of 100 marks for multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 100 multiple
  choice questions (MCQ) for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) at the level of 10th standard/High School.

Assistant Grade – III

• The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have a total of 60 marks multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 60 multiple choice questions (MCQ) for the post of Assistant Grade III at the level of 12th standard/Intermediate.

Technician

• The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have a total of 100 marks for multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) at the level of 12th standard/intermediate.

Technical Assistant (Field), Assistant Director

• The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have a total of 70 marks multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 70 multiple choice questions (MCQ) and 30 marks for an essay in English for the post of Technical Assistant (Field), Assistant Director at the level of Graduation.

Application Fees For WII Recruitment

• Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 700/- (Rs. 500/- Application fee + Rs. 200/- Processing fee) through Demand Draft
  or Pay order from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of the Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
